Steve Schmidt received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the joint department at NC State University and the University of Chapel Hill, where he focused on the interaction between electric field stimulation and endogenous neural activity. He subsequently served as Director of Product Development at Pulvinar Neuro, where he led the development and release of the XCSITE 100, the company's first transcranial current device for research applications.
Since 2017, Steve has worked as an R&D Engineer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. His work centers on adaptive DBS for PD, automated DBS programming strategies, and the electrophysiology of movement disorders.
