Dr. De Jesus is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Penn State Health, where she serves as the Co-Director of the Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program and the Chief of the Movement Disorders Division. She is dedicated to using her clinical expertise and research efforts to improve the care of patients with movement disorders and to enhance our understanding of the mechanisms underlying DBS, aiming to optimize its therapeutic potential. Dr. De Jesus has held roles as both Principal and Co-Investigator on numerous clinical trials involving patients with Parkinson's disease and related disorders, with a specific focus on DBS. Her current research explores both motor and non-motor outcomes associated with DBS. In addition to her research, Dr. De Jesus has a busy clinical practice and is actively involved in medical education and mentorship at the Penn State College of Medicine.
