Dr. Timothy Adegoke is a double-boarded psychiatrist (general and consultation-liaison psychiatry), who joined the clinical faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2023 upon completion of his fellowship training at the same institution.
Dr. Adegoke currently serves as medical director of Neuromodulation Services at Vanderbilt University Hospital/Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital. In this role, he is involved in the administrative, clinical and research aspects of delivering neurostimulation-based therapies such as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS).
Dr. Adegoke's interest in neurostimulation-based therapies began during his residency training, during which time he developed an elective curriculum for his colleagues. During his fellowship year at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Adegoke received further hands-on training in the clinical delivery of ECT and TMS. In addition, he accepted a scholarship to attend the Clinical TMS Society's PULSES course (an in-depth TMS training program) that led to a certification.
In his role as a consultation-liaison psychiatrist, Dr. Adegoke conducts inpatient and outpatient assessments of patients with medical and psychiatric comorbidity, with a view to providing holistic and clinically integrated care. Dr. Adegoke is also involved in medical education, serving as one of the psychiatry clerkship directors for VSM medical students.
