A/Professor Mohabbati is a double Board certified Interventional Pain and Palliative Medicine Physician. He serves as the Medical Director of the Sydney Pain Management Centre and the Cognivus Research Group. A/Professor Mohabbati leads a tertiary multidisciplinary pain service that is accredited for training fellows in Pain Medicine.
He has a special interest in neuromodulation including intrathecal pumps, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation, cancer pain particularly CIPN. His clinical focus also includes spine pain and complex head and facial pain disorders.
A/Professor Mohabbati’s research interests span biomedical science and bioengineering. He collaborates closely with the University of New South Wales, where he is an Associate Professor within the School of Engineering and Manufacturing. He has published and presented extensively in the fields of pain medicine, neuromodulation, and bioengineering.
